Come celebrate Independence Day with us at Garner's Lake Benson Park on July 3rd. We think this is the best fireworks show in the Triangle, plus it's the traditional picnic, family-friendly, style Independence Day celebration. There's even a kid play area for those with little kids. Feel free to invite friends!
We'll bring a couple lawn chairs and blankets, and stake out an area on the lawn. It's usually pretty hot and sunny, so wear sunscreen, or bring an umbrella for shade, etc. You can call Christine when you get to the park and she will come find you and show you back to our spot. 919-369-2990
The park gates open at 5:00pm, the NC Symphony plays at 8:30pm, and the fireworks usually start around 9:00pm. Feel free to drop in anytime in -between, although parking gets harder (i.e. walk farther from where you parked) the later you arrive.
See the website for parking options. We advise arriving as early as possible. The parking lots fill up fast. http://www.garnernc.gov/ParksWebpages/July3/Main.htm
You can bring your own fast food or picnic foods. Feel free to bring food to share!!! (No alcohol or glass containers- park rules.) There are also local non-profit organizations that run concession stands (like Boy Scouts, etc.) Bring cash if you want to buy anything. These are usually typical carnival style foods like burgers, ice cream, hot dogs, sno cones, etc.
